Why Neo-Legal Design?

Today, the international human rights organs are in a serious predicament. With a reach extending to over 2 billion individuals within the jurisdiction of the international commissions, committees, and courts, the global human rights system is facing an unprecedent crisis. The flood of applications files before these international bodies jeopardizes its central mission of providing legal protection of human rights globally. The caseload and lack of legal help to individuals under need poses a serious threat to the effectiveness of the whole human rights system.

In response to this crisis, we embarked on extensive consideration on utilizing technology to ensure the continued effectiveness of the human rights system globally. The biggest issue which has been ignored by many so far relates to the problem of the high numbers of inadmissible cases. The majority of cases are rejected by the Court without giving reasons, the so-called manifestly ill-founded cases. Highlighting these crucial issues, the purpose of our movement is to correspond technological solutions and thereby stimulate the human rights practice as a global service.

AI Powered Experience

Driven by the historical and current data, our Cloud-based Artificial Intelligence Powered System, is designed to solve complex problems related to Human Rights Court Systems by reasoning through bodies of knowledge, represented mainly as if-then rules rather than through conventional procedural code. SolemnRights have specific knowledge to one problem domain, i.e., Human Rights.

The SolemnRights's knowledge is called a HRknowledge base, and it contains accumulated experience that has been loaded and tested in the system. Much like other artificial intelligence systems, SolemnRights's HRknowledge base continues growing with add-ons to the knowledge base, or additions to the rules. The more experience entered into the expert system, the more the system can improve its performance.
